A Central Statistics Office (CSO) 'Our Lives Online Pulse Survey' revealed the 35-44 age group are the most likely to want to work remotely after COVID-19 restrictions end. The survey conducted on 10,797 respondents aged 18 and over, living in the Republic of Ireland in November 2021, revealed 90% of respondents aged 35-44 would like to work remotely after restrictions are lifted.
97% of respondents can complete their work remotely.
The survey highlighted a widespread preference for remote work amongst many age groups. For commuters, 97% of respondents who could complete their work remotely and whose travel time was over 1 hour before the pandemic period stated they would like to work remotely after restrictions are lifted. Overall, 81% of those who remote work aged 18-34 feel they have more time on their hands due to remote work.
